For a wedding or a birth, people sometimes look for a gift that lasts longer than an object. Offering the construction of a well is a way to mark the occasion while providing a concrete service to a community that lacks clean water.
A gift that stays useful
A well does not wear out in a single season. It serves about 40 people, and up to 400 beneficiaries depending on use. It is a gift that can be tied to a name, a date, a specific event, without losing its primary function: giving access to water.
This act is often described as a sadaqa jariya. That remains a way of naming the intention. Goutte d'Espoir is not a charity but a commercial company: your payment corresponds to the purchase of a construction and monitoring service.
The plaque with the chosen name
On delivery, a plaque can bear the name of the couple, of the newborn child, or stay anonymous if you prefer. You receive photos and videos of the finished well, which you can share with the family to show the real gift.
Give alone or together
A wedding often brings together many guests. Since contributions can be combined, several people can take part in the same pool to fund a complete well rather than offer scattered gifts. It is a simple way to turn a gift list into a single structure.
