All the questionsHow is the well built?
Building a well is a complex undertaking: surveying, logistics, permits, materials, labour and on-site supervision. We handle setting up the project with local partners, we follow the construction, and we send you photos and videos so that you can see for yourself the work you made possible.
Who builds the well?
Local teams, on site, with whom we work on an ongoing basis. That is what keeps costs under control and keeps us present for the whole duration of the work.
How long before the well is delivered?
In Uganda, allow 3 to 5 weeks between payment and receiving the report. In the other countries (India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Niger, Togo), the stated timeframe is 4 to 6 months: water tables are deeper, permits take longer and villages are harder to reach. You are told when the work starts, then again when the well is commissioned.
How can I be sure the well is really built?
Every project is followed on the ground by our local teams. When the work is finished, you receive the photos and videos of the site: the drilling, the construction, then the commissioning of the water point.
Does the well carry the name I choose?
Yes. The well is recorded under the name you give: your own, or that of someone close to you, living or deceased. That name identifies the project in our records and travels with the photos and videos sent to you.
Can I stay anonymous?
Yes. You can ask that no name be attached to the well or published: we simply keep a record so that we can send you the evidence.
