How it works

Four steps, from choosing the project to the evidence you receive.

Fund a well

  4. 04You receive the evidence from the field

Choose the country for your well

Each well serves a whole community: around 40 people, up to 400 beneficiaries depending on local needs.

Uganda

The country where we build the most: teams on site, costs kept under control, and the shortest delivery time in our catalogue.

At checkout you give the name the well will carry: your own, or that of someone close to you, living or deceased. That name identifies the project in our records and travels with the photos and videos sent to you. You may also choose to remain anonymous.

What the price of your well covers

A well is far more than a borehole. Behind every one of them are teams, equipment, travel, coordination, follow-up and a whole organisation that turns your order into a real project on the ground.

The detail, step by step
01

Surveying the village and studying the ground

Before the machines even arrive, work is done upstream to identify the areas where the need for water is real and to determine the best place to drill.

02

The drilling, the equipment and the materials

Building a well takes serious technical means.

03

The teams who make each project possible

Behind every well there are women and men.

04

Transport and the whole logistics chain

It is one of the least visible parts of a project, and one of the most important.

05

Following the work and the evidence it produces

Our commitment does not stop at construction.

06

The organisation behind every well

A site you can see on the ground rests on an organisation that is far less visible.

Humanitarian aid deserves the same rigour as any other commitment: the truth.

You fund a project you will never see with your own eyes. Our job is to bring you the proof of it, not just the promise.

01

Full transparency

Every project shows its budget, its goal and its progress in real time.

02

Concrete impact

A well means thousands of litres of drinking water, every day, for years.

03

Human commitment

Behind every project there is a community, a village, lives.

Fund a well

You choose the country to act in, among several areas affected by a lack of access to water. Each well serves a whole community: around 40 people day to day, up to 400 beneficiaries depending on local needs.

Carrying out the project

Once your contribution is confirmed, we work with our partners on the ground to identify the village most in need in the country you chose. Work then begins: drilling, construction, commissioning, in line with local standards.

Tracking and transparency

When the work is finished, you receive photos and videos of each stage: the drilling, the construction and the commissioning. The well carries the name you chose. You may also remain anonymous.

They mobilise their community

Our ambassadors raise funds from their audience to build wells. Every contribution is tracked, and every well delivered carries a name.

Clear numbers. Real impact.

People with access to water

Each person stands for a family, a child, a life changed by lasting access to drinking water.

Wells funded or under way

Projects chosen for their real impact, followed from funding through to commissioning.

Contributions tied to an identified well

Every contribution is assigned to a specific project and followed through to commissioning. This figure is about traceability, not the share of the price spent on drilling.

أَفْضَلُ الصَّدَقَةِ سَقْيُ الْمَاءِ

“The best charity is to give water to drink.”

Reported by Ahmad and Ibn Majah

Narrated by Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

There are seven things whose reward keeps reaching the servant in the grave after death:

  1. one who taught knowledge
  2. dug a riverbed
  3. dug a wellIt is the only one of these seven deeds that we carry out.
  4. planted a palm tree
  5. built a mosque
  6. left behind a copy of the Qur'an
  7. or left behind a righteous child who asks forgiveness for them after their death

Reported by Al-Bazzar, authenticated by Shaykh Al-Albani, Sahih At-Targhib no. 73

What we're asked most

The questions that come up before contributing. The others, on the principle and how a build unfolds, are on the dedicated page.

All questions
How can I be sure the well is really built?

Every project is followed on the ground by our local teams. When the work is finished, you receive the photos and videos of the site: the drilling, the construction, then the commissioning of the water point.

Does the well carry the name I choose?

Yes. The well is recorded under the name you give: your own, or that of someone close to you, living or deceased. That name identifies the project in our records and travels with the photos and videos sent to you.

Can I stay anonymous?

Yes. You can ask that no name be attached to the well or published: we simply keep a record so that we can send you the evidence.

Can several of us give a well together, as a family or with friends?

Yes. In that case a collective name can be given, or several names, as you prefer.

Where does my money go?

It pays for surveying the village and securing permits, the drilling and the materials, the wages of the local teams who build the well, transporting equipment to the village, commissioning, then the photos and videos sent to you. It also covers running the business: coordination, customer follow-up, payment fees and the margin.
